Couples Intensive
When weekly sessions aren’t enough, go deeper.
Three days. Twelve focused hours. Room to get underneath the pattern and do the work that weekly therapy takes months to reach.
Schedule a Free ConsultationIs an intensive right for you?
An intensive may be a good fit if you:
- Feel stuck in the same painful cycle and want focused momentum
- Are navigating a rupture, such as betrayal, and want concentrated support
- Have busy schedules that make weekly therapy hard to sustain
- Have tried therapy before and want to go further, faster
- Want a reset before a big transition
What the three days look like
Each day is four hours, with a break for lunch after the first two hours.
Understanding your cycle
We map the negative cycle that keeps pulling you apart, what each of you does, what it protects, and what it costs you both. Each partner also has an individual hour with the therapist, so we can understand your history and what matters most to you.
Building a lasting connection
We give you practical tools for staying connected in hard moments, including a communication mat you can use at home. Then we track your cycle in real time and practice slowing it down together.
Deepening and repair
We move into the emotions underneath the conflict and create new experiences of reaching for each other, the kind of moments that change how a relationship feels from the inside.
Optional add-ons
For couples who want to go further, an intensive can include:
- Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy session, for one or both partners
- Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) session, for one or both partners
Add-ons are discussed during your consultation to make sure they’re a good fit.
Our approach
Every intensive is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), one of the most well-researched approaches in couples work. Intensives are led by Michelle Pomeroy, LMFT, CEFT.
